Comfi is a US-based company, but they have a very international selection of cards. You can find well priced cards with access numbers in most countries worldwide.

Other products & services:Conference calling, VoIP internet calling services, small business PBX services, mobile prepaid plans (for selected mobile carriers)

Service details:US domestic rates
1.3 cents/min with local access or 2.3 cents/min with toll free access. Some cards have even lower rates, but also charge a maintenance fee.

Sample international rates
These are per minute rates for cards with no extra fees: Afghanistan 22¢, Australia 1.8¢, Bulgaria 2.5¢, China 2¢, Colombia 4.5¢, Romania 3.2¢, Ukraine 9.6¢.

Fees
Lower rate cards carry a weekly maintenance and/or connection fee.

Amounts available for initial purchase
$5, $10, $20, $50 and $100.

Lower rate and extra fees VS higher rate and no fees
Some calling cards from Comfi carry a weekly maintenance fee, but charge a lower per minute rate. These are recommended for people who want to use up the card with one or two calls because they will end up talking more despite the extra fee(s).

use a calling card if I have no long distance plan from my service provider

Can I use a calling card if I have no long distance plan from my service provider?
I plan on using third party calling cards for international calls. If I cancel my long distance plan from my service provider, will I be able to use my calling card? Thanks for any help.
think most people now uses a calling card instead of using their providers long distance service due to major difference in rates.
As long as the calling card service provides “local access” dial-around numbers, or 1-800 toll-free access numbers, then you do not need to have long distance access enabled on your land-line phone.
I dropped my long distance carrier 8 years ago. No more paying a minimum monthly service fee, no more mandated FCC fees.

I use my cell phone for long distance, if I need to fax, I use a phone card.

Not all phone cards are created equal!
Check the fine print. Some cards will eat time after the first use, some do not, some charge a connect fee, some do not.

research before you jump.

you can program speed dial locations for the access/authorization codes so you do not need to dial so many digits.
Yes since most calling cards will offer you a toll free number or a local number.
